My New Toy!
Finally I took the plunge into the digital SLR...and got my budget approval for Canon Rebel XT (a.k.a 350D). Though an entry level DSLR, the quality surprises me. Most likely it was the Carl Zeiss manual lens that I used (with a C/Y-EOS e-adapter from Mr. Haoda Fu). Most pictures were taken with CZ 35-70mm at f3.4 (56-112mm with the x1.6 factor)...except...err...the last picture.

6 months
Ian is growing up too fast. I took him for his 6 months appointment. He is now 17 lbs 5 oz and 27 inches long. He can sit these days but falls over when he losses his balance. He can roll over from back to tummy, sometimes from tummy to back too. His legs are so strong that he can stand up from a sitting position with just a little help holding his hands. I love his chubby thighs and can’t stop squeezing them whenever I hold him. The doc gave him 3 shots during his 6 months’ doctor visit. He cried but stopped as soon as I picked him up, brave baby. After I fed him, he was as happy as ever. Here are a couple pictures taken after I fed him. Look at those contented and flirtatious smiles.

Ian's Engineering Instict
That's it, Ian, unfortunately, has the engineer gene in his blood. Blame it on mom and dad I guess. And uncles and aunts as well. What can you expect from a family of mostly engineers.
Here's the evidence:
While working at home by my PC, Ian was so excited by the PC screen and the keyboard. The first instinct Ian had was to grab the keyboard and typed something very similar to computer language:
Gone is my dream of becoming the dad of a super rock star, where I can just be his "manager", sit back and collect money :)

Very deep indeed. I think it is a mix of baby language and computer language (where you can see the 1 and 0). Uncle Keat and Uncle Gin will be so proud of him.Gone is my dream of becoming the dad of a super rock star, where I can just be his "manager", sit back and collect money :)
